December 200990-92 From a vineyard planted in the 1890s, the 2008 Zinfandel Salvador Vineyard possesses terrific mulberry and black currant fruit intertwined with a note of roasted herbs, striking minerality and earthiness, a big, sweet, full-bodied mouthfeel, and a heady, succulent finish. This is another beauty to enjoy over the next 7-8 years.

May 201091+ Good bright, deep red. Initially expressive aromas of black raspberry, crushed pepper and chocolate quickly went into a shell in the glass. Then dense and juicy in the mouth, with bright acidity framing the flavors of dark raspberry, spices and dried flowers. A big, broad wine with nothing heavy or cooked about it. Finishes long and peppery, with sweet tannins and lingering spiciness. Classic zinfandel with several years of positive evolution ahead of it.
