90-92 From a vineyard planted in the late 1890s, the 2006 Zinfandel Salvador Vineyard has plenty of loamy soil notes, berry fruit, spice box, roasted herb, and meatiness. It’s a big wine, rich, but also supple. It should drink well for 5-7 years.

92 (Larry Turley has been buying these grapes since 1995, but this is the first time this fruit has been bottled by itself; 16.3% alcohol) Good deep, bright red. Aromas of blueberry, licorice and spicy oak. Spicy and densely packed, conveying a strong impression of extract and a piquant note of orange peel. Superripe and highly concentrated wine, finishing with very well buffered tannins. This vineyard dates back to the 1890s.
