We are pleased to offer you the 2007 vintage of the Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley. This follows exciting news that the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley just received a 99 point score from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate. Over the past 5 years, this wine has attained an unprecedented 99.6 point average from this publication. This validates the consistent quality that can be achieved in Washington State with Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2007 growing season gave us beautiful fruit. The result is a classic Cabernet Sauvignon that is quite possibly the best Quilceda to date. The season started off with low spring precipitation resulting in short shoot growth. Heat spikes in May and July reduced berry size. This was followed by warm, consistent heat in August and September that ripened the fruit under ideal conditions. The harvest ended two weeks early with all of our fruit being picked by October 13th, 2007. The Quilceda Creek 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley (97% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Merlot) is a very dense and opulent wine that has amazing concentration and a liqueur-like texture. Classic aromas and flavors of violets, plum, cassis, blackberry and Asian spice cascade over the palate in a delineated fashion, ending in a finish that lasts over a minute.

Actual bottle from our inventory is pictured. These bottles are in excellent condition, from their original case and all fills are into the neck. All bottles are as good or better than the bottle pictured. 100 The flagship 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon contains 3% Merlot. This multi-dimensional offering surrenders an inviting bouquet of sandalwood, Asian spices, violets, truffle, black currant, and blackberry. Seamless on the palate with no hard edges, it is mouth-coating, powerful, and exceptionally light on its feet all at the same time. Impeccably balanced and with plenty of fine-grained tannin in the background, it should effortlessly achieve its 30th birthday. The entire portfolio is a tour de force! Quilceda Creek remains Washington’s benchmark for world-class Cabernet Sauvignon. The Golitzins were ecstatic about the fruit quality in 2007, a near-perfect vintage from their perspective. The only change is that a varietal Merlot is no longer being bottled.

96 This feels slightly softer in the mouth than the massive 2006, but carries the density and gravitas that one associates with Quilceda Creek. Wonderful balance, with a deeply detailed set of flavors that gather strength as they move through the palate. Mixed berries, threaded with chocolate, lingering with black cherry, cassis, smoke, cedar, lead pencil and more.

95+ (includes 3% merlot; 15.2% alcohol) Dark medium ruby. Lovely vibrancy to the aromas of blackcurrant, plum, licorice and cocoa powder, with a strong impression of minerality. Like liquid silk on the palate and yet powerful at the same time, with strong minerality contributing to the impression of lift and inner-mouth perfume. The dark berry, violet and cocoa powder flavors offer compelling early sweetness, and this wine's wonderfully lush tannins will not get in the way of early enjoyment. A great example of the new generation of Quilceda Creek cabernet. Based on its superb length and balance, I'd cellar this for even more fireworks ahead.

94 Firm, with a light grip of tannins around a core of dark berry, currant, smoke and tobacco flavors. This has elegance and depth, with a welcome sense of reticence that doesn't push the flavors too strong. Finishes very long, with a silky texture. Drink now through 2017. 4,250 cases made.
